| We had a great turnout at Sportsman’s Lake park the last Saturday in April for our Children’s Outdoor Rodeo. More than 800 t-shirts were given away to children ages 12 and under. More than 1,000 children enjoyed fishing, feeding the ducks, archery, the tsunami slide, bouncers, train rides, putt putt, paddle boats and MORE absolutely FREE! |

| The Cullman County Home Builders Association held their Spring Golf Tournament recently at Terri Pines Country Club. Third place went to Stone Creek Construction’s Team: Andy Starnes, Lance Frankham, Alex Kontogeorge and Buddy Whitaker. CCHBA President, Andy Starnes, presented the Second Place trophies to the Team from Schwaiger Co.: Wes Warren, Scotty Blair, not pictured were David Miller and Don Corneilus. Finally, 1st place and the Builders Cup Championship went to Wayne Door Company’s Team. Andy Starnes presented the awards to Dale Henderson, Marty Hardman, Tim Fulmer and Ricky Self. Congratulations to everyone and thanks for a wonderful event! |

Volunteer, Courtney Dennis, helps Carson, Cameron and Carly Starnes into one of the many bouncers at Sportsman’s Lake Park during the Cullman County Home Builder’s Association’s 9th Annual Children’s Outdoor Rodeo. Hundreds of children received a free t-shirt and also enjoyed the free activities provided at the park during this event. ![]() Jeff at Timber Framing Workshop This is a picture of CCHBA President, Jeff Hill, at the Timber Framing Workshop. The City of Cullman, in cooperation with Southern Timberwrights, recently held a Timber Framing Workshop. Several Cullman County HBA members attended the workshop. The purpose of the workshop was to provide Cullman area residents an introduction and hands-on instruction in the basics of timber framing during construction of the city’s new 7,250 sq. ft. European-style timber frame structure (Cullman Farmers Market) which is being constructed at the corner of First Avenue and Arnold Street N.E. CCHBA Home & Garden Show was held February 10&11 at the Cullman Civic Center, with a total of 40 exhibitors and customer traffic of more than 500 adults during the course of the weekend. |

The Cullman County Home Builders Association hosted its annual Golf Tournament at Terri Pines Country Club. Proceeds from this and other events throughout the year are used to help support the J.B. “Boots” Hill Memorial Scholarship Fund, Christmas Love and other charities.
The first place team and 2007 “Builders Cup” Champions for the second year in a row were from Alabama Brick Delivery (Score 39.32)– Bill Sanders, Ken Downs, Trey Wheeler and Jason Dillard. The team from Mitch Smith Chevrolet (Score 40.75) – Doug Smith, Craig Laney, Blake Thrasher and Jim Stenso, came in second. The third place team was sponsored by Schwaiger Company (Score 43.88) – Steve Schwaiger, Dustin Schwaiger, John Schwaiger and Don Corneilus. The Longest Drive was awarded to Mike Stacks, Closest to the Line went to Sam Schilleci and Closest to the Pin was Jason Dillard.
The Association
appreciates our sponsors, participants and volunteers for
this year’s Golf Tournament. Special recognition goes to
Mitch Smith Chevrolet for providing the Hole-In-One prizes,
as well as Knight-Free Insurance and Jean Deese Agency for

The Cullman County Home Builders Association
held its first annual “Skeet Shoot” on Saturday, September 30th, at the Maple Ridge Gun Club. More than 40
individuals participated in this event for the benefit of our J.B.”Boots” Hill Memorial Scholarship Program
and other local charities supported by the CCHBA. Thanks to
those who helped make this event a success...Chick-Fil-A,
Wilborn Outdoors, Premier Bank, Regions Bank and all who came
out on Saturday for the shoot! Lori Barlow was the lucky winner
of the Stoeger 12 Gauge Shotgun from Wilborn Outdoors! |
